Frank,

Thanks for the question. I am not sure we wanted to talk about
this yet, but since you asked here goes.

Long and short answers; short answer first. Yes, we are putting
together language for a potential initiative petition drive. And
NO! the current case before the Oregon Supreme Court will have no
affect as to our launching a petition drive.

Long Answer; The petition drive will go forward regardless of the
outcome of the Smothers case. We are very much concerned that the
business and insurance lobby and legislature will thwart a righteous
decision by the Oregon Supreme Court.

A lot of work has gone into this effort so far. We are in
the process of coalition building, research of federal and
state civil rights statues, rough draft of language, what if
scenarios, identification of enemies of this effort in addition
to the workers comp industry, funding issues and of course the
business plan to make this effort successful.

If Nordstrom and companies like them had treated their injured
workers with a shred of fairness and decency this effort would
not be necessary. Oregon Injured workers have been screwed too
long, we are going to fix that.
