Although many would consider this a stretch on my part, I believe this could have ramifications against the State of Oregon should the U.S. Supreme Court uphold the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
A federal judge threw out the lawsuit, but the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated it. Its relied on a previous case in which it allowed a lawsuit by someone "who can prove that action taken by the state, whether in the form of prosecution or otherwise, was a spiteful effort to 'get' him for reasons wholly unrelated to any legitimate state objective."
