The American people are allowing our state and federal constitutions to be trampled upon out of ignorance, apathy and indifference. If this downward spiral continues nothing short of another all-out revolution to bring us out of it. I pray that the American people will not let events control them, but will begin to excercise their freedoms and take responsibility for turning this nation around. We must defeat bi-partisan politics. We must rid ourselves of career politicians who sell out their constituents to the interests who can get them re-elected. They serve for their own personal gain and for those who pay them. We need state and federal term limits. We need real and meaningful campaign finance reform and we need to close the legislator-to-lobbyist revolving door. We must find and elect people who desire to serve at the will of the people and not try to line their pockets in the process. These people exist and we must find them, convince them to run for office and help them get elected. The biggest expense associated with a campaign is t.v. advertising. The airwaves belong to the people and we need laws that require that free airtime be given equally to all candidates. Bill Bradley has some excellent ideas on campaign finance reform and you can read about them on his web site. www.billbradley.com
