need answers

Postby badachilles » February 12th, 2007, 3:45 pm

I recently had surgery on my achilles tendon. I am expected to recover in 4 to 6 months, I am receiving medical and wage compensation. My question is when does this end? What are the steps taken to close the claim? Is it ever closed? I fought for 2 years and am anxious to be done with the insurer and the system. Thanks to anyone who can give me an idea of the third stage of a claim. I am in Arizona by the way.

claim closure

You don't mention a state.

If it's an Oregon injury, a worker's own doctor determines when they're medically stationary (your condition or injury is not expected to get better with further treatment or the passage of time). At that point he's supposed to notify the insurer who will close your claim. Even after closure, the insurer may be obligated to pay for prescription drugs and some other medical services.

I should sleep. I missed the Arizona in your post.

I'd suggest calling the Ombudsman at (602) 542-4538.

The Industrial Commission of Arizona number is (602) 542-4411.
