I was fired for getting treatment. Contact the Department of Labor. Learn about the Family and medical leave act. Check newspapers for advertising for your job. Have a friend (who would be a good witness) inquire for a job similar to yours. I don't know if there is an anti-retaliation provision of the workers comp. statutes. Check into it. In Mass, if you are injured you are considered a qualified disabled person for the state disability act and have priority in being rehired. In my lawsuit (http://www.sorehands.com/mattel) I combined the MGL c.151B (the Mass. version of the ADA), FMLA< and workers comp. to win. |
