Something as serious as this, I strongly recommend having an attorney. Yes, there *are* honest attorney's out there who will look out for your best interests. If you don't have a personal attorney already, you might want to contact a local union hall - they could probably refer you to someone who specializes in this sort of case. Good luck to you folks. Posted At 11:56:46 03/17/2001 Thanks Frank. We do have a lawyer but, he is so busy with all the cases that he does not have the patients to go through each move with us. We are in the miidle of a aggravation and that is why we are receiving our benifits. Some of the other men have lost theirs because they now are known to have a permanent condition and Liberty says it is a "transiant pulmonary" problem which means that it is only temperary and will get better. Mind you, know one is getting better, we are all getting worse and at a faster rate. Pulmonary tests don't lie and you cannot fake them! So we are wondering about the mediation and whether we will loose lifetime disability benifits if we do the mediation. Thanks for any imput. Deb |
