I'm hoping someone might know how I can increase my MMI. I work for the State of Texas and have suffered an injury to my heel that has left me in pain and walking with a cane. It has been almost 3 years. When I sought legal help, no lawyers would touch the case because it was Workers Comp, it is against the state, and there were no third parties involved, so I am forced to accept whatever I can get. I go for my evaluation tomorrow and have already learned that the maximum impairment rating for my type of injury is 12% although physical labor is/was my livelyhood and I now have no social life. In the long run (no pun intended) this low a rating will do nothing to comp me for my future. If anyone has information or links, I would greatly appreciate your help before I sign any settlements. Thank you. |

At this time, their links don't seem to work though, but try back later. I sent them an e-mail to inform them. Also visit Injured Workers of America who are similar to Workplace Injured but national in scope. They list an e-mail link under Texas. They are at http://www.medakate.org/statcord.html. Posted At 06:49:50 04/11/2001 You said you have no social life. That is one of the symptoms of depression. Possibly you can get some other conditions ammended to your claim. If depression happens to fit, it would make your case much stronger. |
