Plan to attend the PSU Labor Unity Rally! Wednesday, April 11, 2001 11:45 am PSU Urban Center Plaza (SW 6th and Mill, downtown Portland) Without the hard work of its employees, Portland State University would not be the successful and credible university it is today. This April, three unions representing these dedicated employees, including AFT Local 3571 (PSUFA), AAUP and OPEU will begin negotiations. As a huge show of solidarity and strength, we have planned a PSU Labor Unity Rally for our members and supporters to kick-off bargaining. Our core issues are universal and include: Fair wage increases and health benefits Job security and respect for ALL PSU employees, working full-time or part-time, as faculty or classified staff Improved working conditions In the words of Albert Einstein, who was an AFT member, our coalition is, "urgently necessary." With each other's help and support from the union community, we CAN achieve fair contracts and the respect we all deserve. United we bargain, divided we beg! |

Posted At 16:36:17 04/09/2001 Sara. The message posted by Del is acceptable in this forum. Unions in this state also agree that the workers comp system is one-side and are working just as hard to change them. I support their hard work. |
