HI EVERYONE. I HAD A CERVICAL FUSION IN 1997 AND IT WENT WELL. FUSION FUSED WELL AND NO RESIDUAL PAIN. I RECENTLY IN DEC. 2000 HAD C6-7 PREVIOUSLY I HAD C5-6. THE FUSION TOOK REALLY WELL FROM C6-7. BUT THE MINUTE I WOKE UP FROM ANESTHIA I HAVE HAD SEVERE HEADACHES AND SEVER PAIN BETWEEN SHOULDER BLADES AND SOMETIMES RADIATES INTO RT SHOULDER. I AM CURRENTLY GOING TO PAIN MED CLINIC. NOTHING HAS WORKED SO FAR. I GUESS THEY TELL ME IT IS A DAMAGED NERVE ROOT. I HAVE BEEN PUT ON A TENS UNIT. IT SEEMS TO HELP WITH THE HEADACHES. JUST TAKES A LITTLE RELIEF OFF MY HEAD. I ALSO AM ON LAMICTAL AND CELEBRAX. QUESTION 1: DOES WORKMANS COMP HAVE TO PAY ME THE REST OF MY LIFE IF MY DR. SAYS I CAN NO LONGER WORK ANYMORE DUE TO CHRONIC PAIN FROM CERVICAL FUSIONS? QUESTION 2: DOES MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT HAVE TO KEEP PAYING MY HEALTH INSURANCE BECAUSE INJURY HAPPENED ON THE WORK PLACE? I KNOW THEY ARE REQUIRED TO PAY FOR MEDICAL CARE CONCERNING THE INJURY BUT WHAT ABOUT MY HEALTH INSURANCE? QUESTION 3: IF I HAVE A RETIREMENT FUND AND IT IS DISPURSED TO ME TO ROLL OVER INTO SOMETHING ELSE OR PAY TAXES ON IT AND USE IT NOW TO PAY OFF BILLS ETC, AND I AM GETTING WORKMANS COMP AND HOPEFULLY SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY AM I ABLE TO USE MY RETIREMENT MONIES TO DO SUCH? OR TO PAY MY HEALTH INSURANCE WHICH I AM UNABLE TO DO WITH WHAT I AM GETTING FROM WORKMANS COMP IT DOESNT COVER MY RENT AND UTILITIES. CAN ANYONE ADVISE ME? I HAVE 20 YRS BEFORE I RETIRE. WOULDNT I BE STUPID TO TAKE A BUY OUT? I WOULD RATHER HAVE THE INCOME ETC. PLEASE HELP THANKS CHRIS

Please don't use capitals. It denotes yelling and is difficult to read.

You should try to retain your health plan at work, even if you can not afford to do so. You can cut something else out of the budget.
Hopefully your doctors, and lawyers from your health plan will back you up.
There's a ton of loop holes they can use to denie your claim, so beware, and prepaired.
All things being proper, you'd think any problems arrising from your original injury would be part of the package.
