I am in California and am being sued by an old friend for money she had invested in my name due to her bad marriage where she did not want to disclose these transactions to her husband. Although I have circumstantial evidence, dates etc, and other materials, could I have the defence of this law as these transactions had taken place around Feb, 1999 and there was no written agreement, only oral and that she had given me the money via checks. Would appreciate your input. |
