Posted At 15:55:44 07/11/2001 Retired....And I agree with you. But the last time I checked this was America and anyone can have an opinion. I think you will be interested in knowing that injured workers have more lobby groups in Florida than do adjusters and/or carriers. Just check out some of the other websites if you do not believe me. I am not trying to insult you but will defend my chosen profession until the end. I feel as strong about my profession and its rights as you do about inujured employees and their rights. I have no problem with you expressing your opinion, just let me express mine. |

Posted At 17:33:04 07/11/2001 db55, I wouldn't waste your time trying to convert some of these folks to your way of thinking. Many are very open-minded, but a few are dyed-in-the-wool "victims" who will always blame others for their problems. It's always the employers fault, or the government, or the current president, or Mannix, or anyone else but themselves. "Retired" is a prime example. I'm sure they've led a very sad life. |

Posted At 22:00:09 07/11/2001 dear db55 you say "I feel as strong about my profession and its rights " you mean your right to help the injured to recover of corse but you make it sound sound like your a victim. |

Posted At 15:27:21 07/12/2001 Reb....If I sound like a victim maybe it is because sometimes adjusters feel like they are. Not victims of the system but of the continual assaults from people like Retired. We are not all bad as he wants everyone to think. We all make mistakes sometimes but so do most people. I get tired of hearing that "it's the adjuster's fault" or "it's the insurance carrier's fault". We just work within the framework of the statute just like you do. |

Posted At 06:24:02 07/18/2001 In religious affairs, to put the conscience of another upon the spit and roast it to a nut-brown discomfort What people call insincerity is simply a method by which we can multiply our personalities. http://www.insuranceexpert.org/ http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Senate/5574/index.html http://www.all-type-insurance.com/disabilityinfo.htm On a final note, each insurance company has it's own specific definition of disability. This is an incredibly important factor in choosing policies. In general, insurance companies define disability as the inability to perform the insured's OWN occupation. However, other companies require for the insured to not be able to perform ANY occupation in order to receive disability income benefits. The ramifications of this can cause a person incapable of their occupation to be forced to change job fields rather than receive benefits from the disability income policy. |

Posted At 15:24:03 07/18/2001 The definition of disability will be contained within the body of the policy. Just read the policy and you will know what the policy covers. |
