You are correct. I am very familar with this case. The union members were the big losers and were not guilty of anything. However, the trustees of these union plans (who in many cases are union business agents) were up to their eyeballs in this. The business agent for OPEU Local 11 encouraged the other trustees to keep the money with Capital Consultants even when this info was starting to come out. If he did not know something was wrong, then he was not doing his job. And, by the way, his son also worked for Capital Consultants. Just keeping it all in the family. |
