State Medical Associations or Boards are in charge of keeping that data. They have a real bad tendency to cover-up for bad doctors. What state are you in? If its Oregon you should know that if a doctor is under investigation they can voluntarily give up their licsence and all proceedings are stopped. Here's a link that has a list by state: http://info.medbulletin.com/medbulletin/stateboards.htm I also recommend this book: 16,638 Questionable Doctors 16,638 Questionable Doctors was designed to assist consumers in making better informed health care choices. The individual doctor listings aid patients in understanding the quality of care they would potentially receive or have already received from a particular practitioner. LEARN ...which doctors have been disciplined and why. ...how to increase your safety when choosing a doctor. ...how to file a complaint about a doctor. ...how to improve your quality of medical care. http://www.citizen.org/hrg/majorpublications/qdform.htm By phone: call (202) 588-7780 with your VISA, MasterCard or American Express. Item FQ802 Region 2: Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming Cost $20 & $3.50 S & H Total $23.50 Public Citizen 1600 20th Street NW Washington, DC 20009 |
