There will be a planning meeting on Wednesday, July 5, at
5:30 pm, OPEU, 1730 Commercial, Salem. Food will be provided.

All speakers have confirmed. Below is the current timings.

8:30 to 9:00 registration

9:00 to 9:30, introducton/keynote, by Lon Holston and Diane Rosenbaum

9:30 to 10:15, (1) what to do when you're injured, including the 801 form,
by Mike Casey

10:30 - Noon, (2) injured worker organizing, Billy Washington and Kay Abel;
organizing through safety committees, Wes Brain; grievances and union
organizing, Barbara Ramirez and Stefan Ostrach; political considerations,
Patrick Green

Noon - 12:30, lunch

12:30 to 2:00 (3) dealing with insurace companies and denials and IMEs, Mike
Casey again; Ombudsman, Maria Carraher

2:00-2:30, (4) medical leave, FMLA by Dan Grinfas

2:45 - 4:15, (5) getting an attorney; appeals, including WCB and the
courts, Mike Casey rides again
4:15 - 5:00 (6) modified work and return-to-work, Bob Williams

Mike Casey will be carrying a lot of the educational portion of this
conference. He will not prepare remarks on ADA and SSI, but he will attempt
to answer questions from the audience if they come up.

The role of the Ombudsman for injured workers;
Appeals when an injury claim is denied or closed;
and other areas of interest.

Cost for the conference is $25 for injured workers, union members, and union officers.
For government officials and for-profit corporations the cost is $75.
