I really hope that you can do something for the ones of us who get hurt on the job and our employers take advantage of the situation. Mine sure has I hurt my leg back in Jan and had a Knee scope and my leg is still not any better I cant stand any longer than 2-3 hours with out the whole leg swelling and ending up with a limp. My doctor has stated that I can return to work doing a clerical postion with mimal walking and standing and so my employer would have need to transferr me to a different deparment but since before my injury I was off with asthma they wrote me up and now for one year I can not transferr even thou it is there fault that I have a leg injury that isnt any better after thepary.Can some one help me understand this they sure can screw some ones live up and not care. Posted At 04:10:08 08/09/2000 EB, First off do you have an attorney, Because it sounds like you might get screwed. If I were you I'd get an attorney, if you live in Florida I know one that has represented a person who he got them a pretty good settlement it isn't million but it was close to $100,000 and at least with that you could invest half of it and by the time your ready to retire you would have a nice little nest egg. now that isn't saying you'll get the same it depends on your injury. also I can only help if you all help your selfs if you could write a letter as a petition and also state your situation in the letter would help. Remember this ins't going to change over night its going to take some time, but still help by mailing your letter to me so I can take it to the legislative committee, Also I wanted to mention I'm also an injured worker who is fighting for what I beleive in. Let me make one more statement before I go What ever you do don't sign any papers until you find yourself an attorney to help you in your case you never know how long this will affect your life hopefully it will heal in time but you should us good judgement if you in Florida or in Georgia I can refer one but only if your in the two states. |

Posted At 17:26:44 08/09/2000 I am in Florida and I have contacted a lawyer but I will accept any names given to me because I understand that I do have a case but I have never dealt with this type of thing so I am not sure how do any thing let me know what you want the letter about and I will be more than happy to send you a letter even if it doesnt help us maybe it will help someone in the futre. I am praying that my leg injury is only temp. But the Physcial Theparist that I was going to say I will be truly lucky if it is not a permanent injury.Because doing knee scopes increase the chance of arthrtis. And you usally end up with a knee replacement. I am only 41 and to think that because of someone elses neglect I may have to have that type of surgery. If it happen natural that is not so bad. It is just so discouraging. Don't these people ever stop and think this could happen to them and then they would know how others feel. Thanks for the feed back. Looking forward to hearing from you.
